Japan's foreign policy after World War II

The author of the book spent almost five years in Japan as a correspondent for the newspaper Izvestia at a time when Japan was adopting an active foreign policy. On the basis of documentary materials and personal observations, he explores the main forms and methods of Japanese foreign policy, reveals its driving forces, shows the characteristic features of Japan's relations with the United States and the countries of Western Europe, as well as Japanese expansion in Asia. The book examines the reasons for the rapid growth of the Japanese economy in recent years, which allowed Japan to become one of the leading capitalist powers and take an important place in world politics. The author devotes considerable attention to analyzing Japan's relations with the Soviet Union and the role of good-neighborly relations between Japan and the USSR in strengthening peace in Asia.
